What Fosters Women's Distrust In Men?

There is a strong general feeling of distrust towards men, among women with low incomes. However, this does not prevent them from getting into romantic unions. Most of the women do get involved in relationships, but with a feeling of distrust. About 96 per cent of low income mums show a strong feeling of distrust towards the opposite gender.
The experience of uncertainty, poverty and histories of domestic violence or sexual abuse directly have an impact on the type of interpersonal trust a woman chooses to enact.

In most of the time, in due course of being in the relationship, the union is later tagged by women as trustworthy, despite all prior assertions of distrust and insecurity.

Reducing the use of alternative forms of trust would allow women to spend time forging intimate partnerships that are more likely to lead to strong, long lasting, healthy marriages.
